Vic, Spain. On August 15, the 175th anniversary of the publication of the book “Daughters of the Most Holy and Immaculate Heart of Mary. Religious in their homes”, the foundational work of the Secular Institute Cordimaria Filiation, was celebrated in the crypt of Saint Anthony Mary Claret in Vic.
Around 30 Daughters of the Most Holy and Immaculate Heart of Mary, coming from Spain and other countries, gathered with members of the Claretian Family for a heartfelt Eucharist, followed by a group photo and a festive meal.
Claret’s intuition emerged in 1846-1847, when he reflected on young women called to consecrated life who, due to the circumstances of the time, could not enter convents. His proposal of consecration lived in the midst of the world was published in 1850, and after years of waiting, it finally took root in Plasencia in 1943 with the foundation of the Institute. The Church officially recognized this vocation in 1947 with the Apostolic Constitution Provida Mater Ecclesiae.
Today, the Daughters of the Heart of Mary, present in Europe and the Americas, remain faithful to the vision of their Founder: to be a living presence of Mary’s Heart in the midst of the world.Source: Josep Vilarrubias, CMF
