Deaf Community Makes Pilgrimmage to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Guadalupe

xico, D.F. On March 24th the XXV pilgrimage to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe took place, organized by the Deaf Community from the Church of St. Hippolytus, which is led by the Claretian Missionaries.

At 11:00 am different communities gathered at the Church of St. Hippolytus, including students from the “Centro Claret” (Primary and Secondary School for the deaf). Later on, various communities of the deaf gathered on the journey, coming from different communities of the Republic: Cuernavaca, Puebla, Guadalajara, Toluca, Oaxaca, Chihuahua, Aguas Calientes, and San Luís Potosí. Together they arrived at the sanctuary, accompanied with prayers expressed in Mexican sign-language, accompanied by Bro. Adolfo “Fito” Villaseñor, CMF and Mrs. Ursula Miliar.

The Eucharist began at 2:00 pm and was presided over by the Provincial of México, Fr. Alejandro Cerón, CMF.

After the celebration there was a social in a nearby hall. The Institute for the integral Development of the Family (DIF) hosted the meal and other people, as well as groups of the deaf, offered entertainment.
